smashed more old models together using a lot of the same pieces I had used in [link]
it's a lot of fun - feels like I'm playing with legos again =D

modeled in rhino and rendered in vray

Love this. It doesn't look finished, but it has great impact. Kinda like a 3d version of an Alchemy sketch.

hmm for pure inspiration/motivation I guess I get from just browsing dA itself
as for the actual concept and idea for the mech design I just try and make it "look cool" lol - no real outside source that I play off of, rather than my own imagination...but then again I guess my imagination is a culmination of various mech games and anime lol

sorry if I've failed to answer your question, it's just kind of a vague thing to answer

Thats great that you dont really need to source references though, to be able to create - mechs especially - without completely copying another design is a talent!

lol not really; like I said, I took some old models that I had and basically exploded them and spliced them together so a lot of the work was "pre-made" in a way
